Grand Seiko's Exterior Repair Polishing Service brings back deep scratches that cannot be removed normally in a new state thanks to the manufacturer's outstanding technology.
Over time you use your watch, damage from small scratches, noticeable scratches, and scuffs will accumulate. This is a special service that will fulfill your wish, "I want to regain the brilliance I used to buy." |

What is Zaratsu polishing?
This polishing creates a smooth surface that does not warp the watch case. By changing the rotation speed of the surface plate, polishing speed, and the auxiliary materials used, the polishing process is applied to the materials that are suitable for the characteristics of stainless steel, titanium, 18K gold, and platinum. |

What is laser-based wound filling?
The same material as the watch is melted with a laser and embedded in scratches and holes. It is welded with wires such as stainless steel, which are as fine as the hair, using a pulse laser at nearly 1000°C, filling in the holes for scratches, and then restored to a near-new condition by grinding and buffing. |

What is the case's streak level?
This process uses fine-grained paper file and rubber whetstone to add streaks to the surface of the case. |

Over time, you may experience small or noticeable scratches. Deep scratches that cannot be removed normally can be revived beautifully thanks to the manufacturer's advanced technology. |
Comparison before and after polishing before (before polishing) Many scratches from years of use were found, and deep scratches were noticeable. |

After (after polishing) The sharp ridgeline unique to Grand Seiko has been revived. |

Q1. What is the difference between exterior repair polish and light polish?
A. Exterior repair polish is a finish that includes advanced polishing and laser restoration that repairs deep scratches and dents on the case and band. Light polishing is a light polishing that aims to make the surface shine and finely regulate, and is only available in conjunction with an overhaul (complete service).
|
Q2: What is Zaratsu polishing?
A. Zaratsu Polishing is a special polishing technique in which special paper is attached to a rotating metal disk and pressing the parts against it to form a distortion-free plane. It is not a process of creating a mirror surface, but a technique to adjust the flat surface that serves as the foundation.
Grand Seiko uses this technology on the sides of the case and lugs, and advanced technology is required to reproduce the exterior repair polish.
|
Q3: Are there any parts or materials that cannot be polished?
A. Yes, some parts and materials cannot be polished. [Notes]
- Crown, buttons, back cover, and clasp marks are not included.
- There may be differences in reproduction of the streaks and mirror finish.
-We do not accept polishing using a medium clasp alone.

・Special materials such as super hard alloys and hard coatings
・The type with paint on the glass edge and the structure cannot be removed
|
Q4. Can I request exterior repair polishing unless it is the same as overhaul?
A. No, you can also request exterior repair polishing alone. However, light polishing is only available for use with overhaul (complete service), and we do not accept orders for individual items.
