The iconic bright yellow dial color and aluminum bezel with red/blue color-coded tachymeter scale are inspired by the original 1969 model. On November 16, 1973, NASA astronaut William Pogue had a watch in his spacesuit pants pocket as he boarded the Saturn rocket. The watch was part of Seiko's ``Five Sports Speed Timer'' series, Caliber 6139, the world's first self-winding chronograph that Seiko began selling in the spring of 1969. Even after nearly 50 years since its release, the bright yellow dial and vivid design do not seem outdated and still shine with charm. Product number: SBDL117 Release date: July 24 |
